Positive signs from China

Friday's market got a little boost from signs of growth in China.  The Daily Shot (part of my morning routine) has coverage.  Here are a few key items.

The shift to a consumer economy is something to keep in mind:

Lending is increasing more than past years.

Economic "surprises" are positive.  [I don't care for this approach as an indicator of strength, but it is useful for revealing when the economic punditry is too positive or negative.

Following China closely with data other than the PMI is a good way to be contrarian with the fundamentals on your side.
